A press release reaches Romanian publications by three routes: you send it to newsrooms by email and wait, you put it on a free aggregator where it is indexed but unread, or you publish it on publications picked from a catalogue, with price and turnaround written. Each route gives something different. This page puts them side by side, so you choose knowingly, not by whoever found you first.
1. Directly to newsrooms, by email
Free, if you do not count the time. It works for real news with weight: a large company, an announcement that moves a market, a subject the newsroom would have written anyway. For the rest, the reply rate is under one in twenty, and the reply is usually an advertorial rate. If you go this way, send during the morning, Tuesday to Thursday, with the text in the body of the email rather than attached, and the release headline as subject. How to write the text is in the writing guide.
2. On a free aggregator
Sites that publish any release for free give you an indexable address and nothing else. Nobody reads them except robots, their domain authority comes from volume rather than readers, and the links in them are worth nothing. They are worth one thing: a public address to cite in other material ("full release here"). We have a free route too, with a different purpose: free press releases for non-profits and for every account's first publication.
3. On publications picked from a catalogue
You choose publications by niche, authority and price, submit the text, and it appears correctly labelled within the written turnaround, with the address verified at the end. It costs 35 lei excluding VAT (roughly €7) per publication in our network, from 26 with a subscription, and solves exactly what the first two routes lack: predictability. You know in advance where it appears, when and how. The service page is press release publishing; it is not only for non-profits, though they publish for free.
The comparison in short
- Reaches readers: newsrooms, yes, if they pick it up; aggregator, no; catalogue, yes, on the chosen publication.
- Time to publication: newsrooms, days or never; aggregator, immediately; catalogue, the turnaround written next to the publication, most often 1–3 working days.
- Cost: newsrooms, your time; aggregator, zero; catalogue, 35 lei per publication.
- Control over the text: newsrooms, none, they rewrite it; aggregator, total; catalogue, total, with a label check.
- Verified address at the end: catalogue only.
What works best
The combination. You email the story to the three to five newsrooms that matter to you and, in parallel, publish it on two or three niche publications from the catalogue, so it exists for certain, correctly labelled and on time. If a newsroom picks it up, you also have editorial coverage; if not, you have the publication anyway. How to choose publications by audience rather than by the authority figure is in the guide how to choose the sites.
Create your account in two minutes and your first publication is free — no card, no sales call.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest route?
The free aggregator, if all you want is an address. The catalogue, if you want readers: 35 lei, from 26 with a subscription, on publications with a real audience.
Does a release published through the catalogue appear as news or as advertising?
As labelled material, as the law requires, with its own address on the publication. The newsroom does not rewrite it or sign it as its own; the text is yours, under your name.
Can I publish the same release on several publications?
Yes, and it is recommended for news that matters. Change the headline and the first paragraph for each, so the pages do not compete with each other in search.
How do I choose the publications?
By the reader you want, then by authority. The catalogue is split into seventeen niches, with the five most authoritative publications on each niche page. See the publications.
